Description
This is the second half of Simpson's two part collection. This heartfelt collection of poetry is creative and quirky, often turning both our expectations and the language itself on its head. Although many of the poems deal with difficult questions and feelings there are also many witty moments, as well as a fair share of laugh out loud ones.
About the Author
Simpson describes herself as being born into a catholic, middleclass family, in Middlesex. Since that day she has experienced huge suffering but also shown great courage and resilience. She is very frank about the way in which relations have let her down but is also aware of the difficulties she experienced as part of married life and motherhood. Today she is happily married and lives by the sea.

He wasn’t even born;
And yet,
They were already fighting over him.
The many hands
Clawing at him,
Digging into every pore.
He wasn’t even born;
And yet,
He was already tied to her.
The cord choking,
Tightening the grip,
Slowly suffocating him.
He wasn’t even born;
And yet,
Already he knew he must die.
For sanity’s sake,
He mustn’t breathe.
It’s his only escape.
He wasn’t even born;
And yet,
The lifeblood was sucked out.
Frightened and alone,
No longer to be.
Dead and yet free.
